The most intelligent thing I’ve read all day. As a woman, it offends the hell out of me when people tell me to value certain clothing (instead of consent) in order to not get raped as if it is my responsibility to avoid rape not men’s responsibility to not rape. I don’t believe any man I know personally would ever choose to look a rape victim in the eyes and blame her instead of the rapist. But that is exactly what society does every single time we question a woman’s choice of clothing, what she drinks or even the places she hangs out in, because NONE of these things will ever give anyone the right to assault and rape another human being.
